Ko, Lewis paired, leads yesterdays boards.

The 16 year old turn rookie pro Lydia Ko, who makes her first appearance in the LPGA tour in the Pure Silk Bahamas Classic, has stepped out on top at the end of the first day of play. Ko who had a 130 weeks stint on top of her amateur game turned pro recently.

Lydia's mom, Tina, travels with her and  was there with her pleasant and almost permanent smile when Lydia was interviewed by the LPGA following the days play.

The rookie never showed any sign of nervousness during the day's play but says she got of  "to a shaky start and I needed to make a 4-footer for par, but when I made birdie at No. 2 I was able to relax". She further said she shocked herself that she wasn't nervous. Ko was paired with Stacy Lewis who said that Ko was a really "likeable kid" and that she was happy to be playing with her.

EspnW's Mechelle Voepel puts it a nutshell saying how innocent she is and how much of an influential teenager she has become, all in her article about Ko.

Ko shot 5-under 68 to tie for the first-round lead with South Korean Meena Lee and will continue her quest for this year's title on Sunday.
